A few weeks have passed since we first achieved ClockworkMod Recovery. We&#039;re now getting our hands greasy with CyanogenMod7, and Hashcode is busy developing his Sandbox Bootstrap system. As ROMs become more popular, people are going to ask more questions (Not that it&#039;s a bad thing). Since we have a lack of Moderators here to help move the threads, or sticky them, this thread will be dedicated to helping everyone out. (Especially when CM7 comes out. The install is tricky, and if you don&#039;t do it right you could seriously screw something up.)

Instructions to properly installing a Custom ROM on Droid 3

This will not matter if you are currently using the official Bootstrap Recovery from Koush in the Market, or if you are using Hashcode&#039;s Tweaked ClockworkMod Recovery Bootstrap. Find support thread here.

1. Place the .zip file on your internal or external SD Card (Doesn&#039;t matter)
2. Boot into Recovery.
3. Make a full Nandroid Backup (This will take ~5-10 minutes)
4. Wipe Data/Cache (Dalvik Cache and format /system/ if the developer says so)
5. Choose Install zip from either your internal or external SD Card, depending where you placed it.
6. Reboot.

AOSP ROMS

As of right now we do not have a publicly available AOSP ROM yet. However, we are currently working to fix CM7 up and have it ready. There are still some big bugs, such as Radio not working, Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.

UPDATE 10/17/11: Thanks to Hashcode and everyone in the IRC Channel, we have WiFi, Sounds, and SDCards working. Radio shouldn&#039;t be too far away now, but camera is still broken. (But seriously, who cares about camera, right?)

1. If you are using Hashcode&#039;s tweaked bootstrap recovery, simply boot into BP Tools (Using M+Power) and restore your Nandroid backup.
2. If you can&#039;t get past the Motorola Logo and aren&#039;t using Hashcode&#039;s tweaked bootstrap, go here to SBF your Droid 3.

Các bước up room: Download Room cần up, copy vào bộ nhớ máy!

1: Download the 5.6.890 SBF file HERE --> Download file về rồi giải nén.
2: Download RSDLite 5.5 HERE ---> Download rồi cài đặt RSD Lite
3: Tắt máy sau đó Dùng tổ hợp phím : Vol +, Vol - và nút nguồn để bật máy vào chế độ AP Fastboot ( hiện lên 1 bảng, sau đó dùng phím Vol - để di chuyển xuống AP Fasboot , dùng vol + để chọn chế độ AP Fastboot )
4: Bật RSD Lite, sau đó cắm cáp USB vào. Phần "File name" chọn đường dẫn đến thư mục 5.6.890 SBF đã giải nén ( chọn file có đuôi VRZ_XT862_5.5.1_84_D3G-55_1FF_01.xml ) >> Chọn Star. Đợi 1 lúc phone restar lại.
5: Download và cài đặt cái này: Petes Motorola Root Tools. Download it HERE
6: Click Root to Phone. Đợi đến khi có hiển thị thông báo Rooted trên bảng Petes Motorola Root Tools.
7: Sau khi đã root xong phone, vào download app: Droid3 Bootsrapper từ Market. Chọn Bootstrap Recovery , sau đó chọn Reboot Recovery. >>>> Đợi máy vào Recovery rồi ta chọn Install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from internal sdcard", chọn File Room. Đợi máy Install , go back, reboot system now. Vậy là xong.

Từ lần sau cần up room mới thì thực hiện từ bước 7, rồi chọn room là ok.

Đây là bản rom gingerbread dành cho droid 3. bản này có đuôi SBF nên dùng RSD lite để flash giống như điện thoại droid 2 global dùng SBF .330 và RSD Lite để về stock rom vậy. Có điều tôi không có máy droid 3 để thử. Mà chẳng biết droid 3 giờ giá bao nhiêu nhỉ?

Tôi đã dùng motorola droid 2 global, về nguyên tắc thì giống con này, chỉ kém chip và kích cỡ màn hình. Nói chung droid ít rom hơn các dòng điện thoại khác nhưng bền vô địch. Tôi đã up cả trăm lần, vài chục bản rom khác nhau mà có thấy nó hỏng bao giờ đâu. Hơn nữa, tôi còn hướng dẫn cách up rom qua điện thoại thành công cho không biết là bao nhiêu người rồi.
